On Creative Cloud for Teams accounts, managing generative AI access across multiple designers, editors, and production staff requires a centralized approach. Unlike individual consumer plans where credits are locked to a single user wallet, Creative Cloud for Teams automatically pools generative credits into an organization-wide balance. This setup prevents individual team members from hitting early paywalls, balances usage across heavy and light AI users, and allows administrators to allocate and monitor credits through the Adobe Admin Console.
Fast Fix
Sign in to adminconsole.adobe.com as a Team Administrator. Navigate to Storage & Services > Generative Credits to confirm that your organization’s Pooled Credits are active. Team members assigned to active Creative Cloud licenses will automatically draw from this collective organizational pool whenever they run generative AI tasks in Photoshop, Illustrator, or Firefly.
Quick Status Snapshot
- Account Type: Creative Cloud for Teams (Business / Multi-Seat Plans).
- Credit Model: Shared organizational pool (credits combine across all active team seats).
- Administrative Interface: Adobe Admin Console (
adminconsole.adobe.com). - Governance Controls: Product Profile permissions, usage tracking reports, and centralized add-on allocations.
How Pooled Team Credits Function
When an organization purchases Creative Cloud for Teams licenses, Adobe does not isolate credits into individual user accounts:

(Each seat contributes 1,000 credits to the pool)

[Master Shared Pool: 10,000 Credits]

└─────────────┼─────────────┘

[Remaining Balance: 3,300 Credits]
(All users continue working uninterrupted)
- Automatic Aggregation: If your studio licenses ten seats of Creative Cloud All Apps, and each seat includes 1,000 credits, your organization shares a collective monthly pool of 10,000 credits.
- No User Starvation: In creative studios, AI usage is rarely balanced evenly. A 3D concept artist or video retoucher may burn 3,000 credits in a week, while a production manager burns fewer than 50. The pooled model allows heavy users to draw from the collective balance without interrupting their work.
- Centralized Billing: Team members cannot attach personal credit cards to company-provisioned seats. Any additional credit packs must be purchased and allocated by a designated Team Administrator.

https://adminconsole.adobe.com. - Sign in with your Team Administrator credentials.

Step 2: Ensure Users Log in to the Correct Team Profile
If an employee reports they are out of credits while the team pool still has an active balance, they are likely logged into a personal profile:
- Have the user open Creative Cloud Desktop.
- Click their Profile avatar and select Sign Out.
- Log back in with their company email address.
- When prompted with the Select an Account screen, they must select Company or School Account.
- Choosing the personal profile routes the application to an unlinked personal wallet, bypassing the team pool.
Step 3: Prevent Accidental Overuse with Permissions
If you need to prevent non-design staff or freelancers from draining the shared pool on experimental prompts:
- In the Admin Console, click Products.
- Select your Creative Cloud plan and choose the relevant Product Profile (e.g., Contractors or Junior Staff).
- Go to the Permissions tab.
- Locate Generative AI / Firefly Services.
- Toggle access to Disabled.
- This removes generative AI buttons from their desktop tools while preserving full access to all standard editing features.
To learn how individual users can configure their workspace tools to prevent accidental generation clicks, see How to Disable AI Features to Prevent Accidental Credit Usage.
Adding More Credits to the Team Pool
If your team’s collective pool runs out before your monthly reset date, a Team Administrator can add credits:
- In the Admin Console, go to Storage & Services > Generative Credits.
- Click Buy Add-on Credits.
- Select the credit tier needed to support your production schedule.
- Complete the transaction using the payment method on file for the team.
- The credits will deposit directly into the collective pool, restoring high-speed generation for all assigned users immediately.
Hard Stops
- Do not distribute administrative login credentials to team members so they can check their own credit balances. End-users can see their consumption status directly inside Photoshop or Illustrator by clicking their profile avatar. The Admin Console should remain restricted to designated administrators to protect billing details and organizational user assignments.
